If you are interested in getting involved with your cooperative, director positions for Districts 6 and 7 are up for election at the next annual meeting on April 6 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds.
District 6: Incumbent David House. This district can generally be described with its eastern edge at the tunnel on Highway 38, extending due west to Elkton, Wells Creek, Scottsburg, Loon Lake, and Deans Creek.
District 7: Incumbent Shirley Cairns. This district can generally be described with its western edge at Marvin Hill on Highway 138, its northern edge at Rice Hill on I-5, its southern edge at Sutherlin and Cooper Creek, and its eastern edge at Mount Scott.
Qualified applicants must file a membership nomination petition signed by at least 15 members who reside in the respective district. Petitions must be delivered to Douglas Electric Cooperative headquarters on or before January 31. DEC headquarters is at 1981 North-East Stephens Street, Roseburg.
