Community Service

Douglas Electric Cooperative's old headquarters building is still serving the community right up to the last days before its demolition. It is being used as a training opportunity for the Roseburg Fire Department. While the building was too close to other buildings to be burned, it can still be used by firefighters to train in navigating through smoke-filled rooms, and for practicing forced entries on commercial grade doors. Smoke canisters were used instead of fire to simulate an emergency.
