Douglas Fast Net

Back in 2001, the Douglas Electric Cooperative (DEC) board of directors launched Douglas Fast Net. They did it to fix the lack of internet services for members of the cooperative throughout the region. The plan worked. Today, Douglas Fast Net (DFN) is on a mission to expand services and bridge the all-too-real digital divide in rural spaces.

Fiber Solution Expansion

The DFN network of fiber-optic carrier lines that once looped around the city of Roseburg has now expanded to a vast network of speed-of-light fiber solutions that weave their way from the Oregon Coast to the crest of the Cascade Mountain Range. In 3 Oregon counties and nearly 20 cities, DFN has grown to become a highly respected and nationally recognized leader thanks to:

  • Company foresight
  • Our cooperative structure and beginnings
  • Work ethics
  • Equipment and technological advances

During DFN’s organizational lifecycle, online communications have moved from a nice-to-have to an absolute necessity. The Internet has become part of our day-to-day lives.

Investing in Technology

Throughout all of these changes, DFN has continued to look over the horizon towards “what’s next” by investing in technology that improves opportunities for all people and organizations — to seek equity and inclusion in society through access to modern digital tools. We will never forget our cooperative origins as we continue to drive towards thoughtful and competitive internet solutions for both residential and commercial customers. DFN is a 100% Local Internet Solutions company dedicated to what’s next.
